You talk to the analyst
Not a salesperson today and a delivery team next month. The person who understands your problem is the person who solves it, because they're the same person.
Bradford Independent is the consultancy. Harley Bradford is the analyst. Here's how the two fit together.
Harley Bradford
I'm Harley Bradford, an independent business analyst based in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
I help organisations understand, improve and build the systems behind their work. In practice that means sitting down with the people who actually do the work, mapping how things really operate, finding where they break down, and then improving them or building what's missing, processes, services, workflows, websites and digital systems.
My background spans business, technology, digital development, marketing and organisational development. Before consulting, I worked around the local music industry, primarily with choirs, bands and productions, as an Ambassador for Music and a representative for schools and organisations. It taught me something I still rely on: how much good work happens when the systems behind it are understood, and how much gets lost when they aren't.
What connects all of it is a straightforward interest: understanding how things work, and finding practical ways to make them work better. I'm happiest with the messy middle of a problem, the part where nobody has written it down yet.
Why independent matters
Not a salesperson today and a delivery team next month. The person who understands your problem is the person who solves it, because they're the same person.
In larger consultancies, insight fades as it passes between layers. Here, the understanding formed in the first conversation is the same understanding that writes the recommendation and builds the system.
An independent's only product is good advice and honest work. If your problem needs something I don't do, I'll say so, and help you find who does.
The best way to find out is a short, honest conversation about what you're trying to achieve.
